After living in Holland for 2 years I need a fix of London .....just once in a while, but I need it. Everywhere has its good and bad points I know and nobody makes me live in Holland but all the same. Maybe I'm suffering from a bad case of rose tinted glasses but there you have it, I need a holiday in London.
So armed with my passport and easyjet locator we travel to the airport and join the check in queue. So we stand and queue and queue and listening to the conversations around us and why it appears that we are the only people able to "travel light". I wish I hadn't bought one of those holiday specials, perhaps we wouldn't have to queue then, do people travelling in business class queue? My mind wonders and I'm staring at a lovely sandy beach and palm tree's, the poster tells me I can fly to the Seychelles for less than i think.....................I wonder?
Back to reality and look, what joy, another queue to stand in. The proverbial laws prevails and we join the wrong queue. You must have been there .... the only queue that hasn't moved and you watch all the irritating people slowly inch there way forward whilst you stand perfectly still whilst argueing with your travelling companion about who's fault it is your in the wrong queue. In our case, my beloved points out the man with the squeaky voice standing behind us in the easy jet queue is now leaps and bounds ahead of us. In actual fact he's currently 3 people ahead of us but by the time we arrive at the front of our own queue which clearly states EU passport holders only( why don't people take any notice of that) he's long gone .
I realise that the imigration control are only doing a job and i certainly want to make sure I'm not sitting next too "Mr Terrorist with the dodgy passport" but all logic goes out the window when it comes to queueing and I can't understand why the line i've stood in is going so slowly. Why was I born with so little money? I should be travelling business class to America about to enjoy a luxury holiday. I mean a London fix is just what I need but a holiday in the sun lying on a sandy beach..........now thats what i really need.
